totem pole of sedimentary styles
Made in a combination of Maya and Mudbox, this was my first experiment with M object creation. The final rock is 256 polygons with a normal maps from the 6.5 million polygon version. I enjoy making objects feel realistic and so the time spent sculpting each sedimentary layer was quite pleasurable.

Steam Punk Wings
I created these wings in Autodesk Maya, they are designed to be a steam punk flying machine for the Rift project.

Rift Scene Overview
I only created a fraction of the models visible. But it is a passion of mine to give scenes character and emotion, so I went through and placed a lot of the back ground objects (boxes and other debris in alleyways) to look lived in and worn. While placing objects I try to create back stories for why the objects are there and what type of person would use them, I think that this makes the scene feel more realistic. Objects I modeled in this scene: Oil drum, cardboard boxes, bricks, cones, trash, antennas, sattelite dishes, security cameras (both) and steam punk themed lamppost.

mid poly cyber punk background objects
Background Cyber Punk themed objects for the rift scene. I tried to make the objects feel futuristic while still remaining polygonally conservative.

Steam Punk Wings Closeup
A closeup of the steam punk wings I made. I try to make things feel like they would actually work. That was one of my main driving actions for the design of these wings.

Desert Patrol Vehicle (DPV) front view
The suspension is modeled after real dune buggy suspension so that one could rig it and have it behave correctly. I wanted to add realism to my model, so I researched how the A-frames of the front suspension were designed to counteract the change in camber of the wheel.

DPV front view with edges
I like to give my models lots of details to help add realism.
